Building Your Mentorship Network Workshop - Sept. 21, 2024
The Society for Anthropological Sciences will be hosting an online Zoom workshop, 'Building Your Mentorship Network', hosted by Dr. Stephen Chrisomalis, on Saturday, September 21, 12:00pm-2:00pm Eastern US time.
This workshop is directed at graduate students, postdocs, and other early-career researchers who want to build a stronger academic mentoring network. Particularly but not only in scientific anthropology, life as an early professional or student can be isolating and norms are often hidden or unspoken. From identifying your mentoring needs and goals, to developing individual development plans for your careers, to talking about yourself to new audiences and nurturing your existing network, this workshop is designed to help you professionalize in ways that most graduate programs rarely train new students to do. (Undergraduates, this one is probably not for you, but we have other workshops in store for you!) To protect participants' privacy, the workshop is NOT being recorded or redistributed.
You do not need to be an active SAS or AAA member to attend the workshop; however, we encourage you to do so. Students do not pay any additional fee to become SAS members, beyond the AAA student rate.
To preregister for this Zoom workshop, fill in the information at this link, which will then send you a link to the actual Zoom meeting on the given day. Only preregistered attendees will be admitted, for security.
